Brenda North, Owner
The plan for A Child's Hideaway was
a college project Brenda prepared for
her administration class.  Her dreams
became a reality in September 1980,
when A Child's Hideaway opened its
doors.

Brenda graduated from Irvington High
School and received her degree in
Early Childhood Studies in 1974.  She
continued her education at San Jose and Santa Cruz University, along with attending management seminars through private agencies. She also holds her Master Teacher permit from California Department of Education.

Before opening A Child's Hideaway she taught for two years at Ohlone College child lab in Fremont and Newark and then taught for six years with the City of Fremont, Tiny Tot program.

Brenda is also one of the founders of ECDC,  Early Childhood Directors Cooperative, which works towards promoting quality childcare and updating the childcare field in the Tri-City area.

Ripon is where Brenda now makes her home and enjoys spending her free time cooking and entertaining for her friends and family as well as her adult son, Jeremiah.
